Drilling in the City of Madison

Drafting DrillMADISON -- Engine 1 and Tanker 8 went with crews to Station 7 in the City of Madison. VFD was contacted by MFD to participate in a joint drill in the CIty of Madison. The drill was to get VFD and MFD crews working together in a drafting pump operation (sucking water out of a open water tank into the engine). Madison Engine 7 has an area that does not have hydrants and if there is a fire in that area, they would have to call a county fire department (VFD) to bring water (in tankers) and an engine to pump water to their trucks.

Crews from VFD went to Station 7 and drilled with Engine 7 and Ladder 2. drafting drill 2They toured the area that doesn't have hydrants, and then came back to the station and showed E7 and L2 how to draft or pump water into the trucks from a water tank.
