Epic delivers another round of grants (article from The Verona Press)
Verona firefighter Chris Schultz shows one of the newer, lightweight air tanks the department has, along with the new masks, which have better visibility and make it easier for firefighters to communicate. Donations from Epic will help the department buy 25 new air tanks – for a total cost of about $131,000 – to replace these current models that the fire department would have needed to replace in a few years anyway. The tanks are used whenever firefighters are putting out fires, said assistant fire chief Melissa Helgesen.VERONA -- Verona's largest employer continues to be one of the city's major benefactors, too. Epic Systems recently announced another round of donations to Verona that will buy new equipment for firefighters, literacy programs at the public library, groceries at the Verona Food Pantry and much more.
