On February 11, 2012, at 07:00 hours the Verona Fire Department hosted a live fire training burn at a residential structure on Wesner Road in the Town of Verona.  Firefighters from Verona Fire and Mt. Horeb Fire, along with Madison Area Technical College Fire Instructors, and the MATC Entry Level Firefighter Class participated in the training that was instructed by MATC.  It was an extremely cold day, but the training was very good with numerous room fires and crew rotations allowing for valuable training under real fire conditions until about noon when the structure was allowed to burn down.  Fitch-Rona EMS also provided a Paramedic standby during the training.  Thanks to everyone that attended and was able to help make this training possible.
