At 6:39 p.m. the Verona Fire Department responded to a Mutual Aid request from the Mt. Horeb Fire Department for a structure fire on Davis Street in Mt. Vernon. Units found a fully involved unoccupied structure upon arrival. Mt. Hoerb had requested a full response from Verona and Engine 1, Car 1, Tender 7, Tender 8, and Squad 5 responded to the scene, with Squad 5 being returned once they arrived. The first arriving crews made a great save of the exposure building which had the siding burning on arrival.
